Introducing Catherine 

 

Having started violin at the age of five, Catherine continued on to complete a Bachelor of Music - Violin, in her hometown of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Several years later, wanting to upgrade her teaching skills, Catherine completed a Graduate Certificate in Music Studies - String Pedagogy. She has now been honing these skills for a further 10 years, teaching predominantly from her home studio and online.

Through her Pedagogical degree, Catherine studied numerous string-teaching methods, including Suzuki, Colour-Strings and others. She now teaches with an integrated style incorporating aspects of these methods where appropriate, catering to the needs of each individual student. 

​

Catherine has taught students from as young as 4 to over 50, and frequently assists students prepare for exams, auditions and other performances.

 

By attending Professional Development conferences for string teachers, and music-teacher meetings whenever possible, Catherine continues to improve her teaching.

Catherine is a professional member of Music Teachers' Association of Queensland and Australian Strings Association.
